<p>Sadina M. Hamilton, 81, of West Ashley, passed away peacefully surrounded by family</p><p>on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.</p><p>Sadina was born in Charleston, SC on June 22, 1944, to the late Sadie Hamilton (nee</p><p>Jackson) and late Lonnie Hamilton Jr. She was 1 of 13 children: Lonnie Hamilton III,</p><p>Herman Hamilton (deceased), Benjamin Hamilton (deceased), Nomanda Hamilton,</p><p>Olivia Cohen (Seymour), Howard Roberts (deceased), Audrey Johnson (deceased),</p><p>Evelynne Brown, Marvella Lambright, Nadiyah Abdur-Rahim, Laulita Horton, and</p><p>Theron Hamilton (deceased).</p><p>Sadina graduated from Bonds-Wilson High School in 1962, later serving 8 years as</p><p>President of the Class Reunion Committee. Following her father’s example, she</p><p>advocated for the civil rights of Blacks throughout her life and as a teen was jailed for 3</p><p>days due to her participation, delivering a speech at a rally held at Mother Emanuel</p><p>Church upon her release.</p><p>Sadina worked for BellSouth and retired after 30 years of service. She continued to</p><p>work a life of service in retail and nursing as well as volunteering for the Charleston</p><p>County Foster Care Review Board in her spare time.</p><p>In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with family, visiting Rome, Florence, Venice,</p><p>London, Bahamas and the Hawaiian Islands. She was a gifted seamstress, customizing</p><p>outfits to reflect her individual style and gardening with a green thumb. Sadina was a</p><p>HUGE football fan, especially of the Carolina Panthers, and enjoyed watching games</p><p>live or on television. She participated for a stint with the Charleston Gospel Choir and</p><p>regularly contributed her vocal talents to her church choir throughout her life. Being a</p><p>woman of immense faith and as a member of Greater Trinity AME Church, Sadina led</p><p>the Missionary Society both as President and Vice-President for a combined 16 years.</p><p>She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren: Monique Taylor-Kincaid</p><p>(Frederick) and grandchildren, William and Sadie; Brigette Taylor (Tim) and</p><p>grandchildren Ian and Kennedy; Zachary Taylor (Carolyn) and grandchildren, Emery</p><p>and Eleanor; and Jade Terry as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and</p><p>“framily”.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: American Heart Association at heart.org</p><p>Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), https://donorservices.alz.org/</p>
