<p><p>Pieter C. Grosbeck, 63, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on December 9, 2025,succumbing to his World Trade Center related illness. Pieter is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa, and was a loving, caring friend and partner who always took care of others. His laugh was infectious, and you could often find him on the golf course where he loved to spend his days in retirement.</p><p><br></p><p>Pieter was an Eagle Scout, graduate of Tappan Zee High School and Rockland Community College. He was employed as a technician / specialist for ITT in Antarctica for 6 months prior to being hired by NYPD in 1984. Pieter was a patrolman in the 44 precinct, South Bronx for over 4 years before transferring to the FDNY in 1990.</p><p>He was assigned to Engine Company 3 in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. He transferred to Battalion 7 in 2010 where he worked until retirement in 2018.</p><p>He was a volunteer in the Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company for 45 years, serving as President, active Board Member and Chief three times. He was awarded Life Membership for his dedication in 2019, the highest honor the Company can bestow.</p><p>Pieter is the son of the late Robert G Grosbeck, Sr of Blauvelt and the former Marilyn Cook Grosbeck of Montvale, NJ. He leaves behind his brother Robert G Grosbeck, Jr and wife Bernadette and two nieces, Chelsea and Courtney and a sister Meg Grosbeck-Howe and her husband Robert.</p><p><br></p></p>

Pieter C. Grosbeck, 63, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away on December 9, 2025,succumbing to his World Trade Center related illness. Pieter is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lisa, and was a loving, caring friend and partner who always took care of others.
