<p>It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Leonard John Standing announce his passing at the age of 63, on December 9, 2025, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, with his loving family by his side. Born in Burgeo, he was the son of the late Lewis and Lucy (nee Strickland) Standing.</p><p><br></p><p>Left to mourn, with countless cherished and enduring memories, are his siblings: Marjorie (Clyde), Lilian (Reuben), Wilfred (Emily), Dave (Geraldine), Rose (Jerome), Helen, Bill (Jane), Daphne (Rex), Roy (Phoebe), Lewis (Christa), Lisa (Derrick), and Walter. He is also lovingly missed by special friends Paula and Terry, Frank, Tammy, and Cohen, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Len is predeceased by his parents, Lewis and Lucy Standing; stepfather, Hayward Collins; his son, Reagan MacIsaac; brother, Raymond Collins; brother-in-law, John Hayman; and sisters-in-law, Colleen and Sharon Standing.</p><p><br></p><p>Len had a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. In recent years, he divided his time between being on the water in Prince Edward Island with his buddies and enjoying the countryside in Newfoundland with family. He took great pleasure in fishing, hunting, and any outdoor activity where he could offer his assistance and enjoy good company.</p><p><br></p><p>Known for his quick wit, generous nature, and readiness to help others, Len leaves behind a legacy of treasured memories that will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Thomas and all of the nurses at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre, Len’s chemo nurse, Sherry, and Oceanside Funeral Home for their compassionate care. A special thank you is also extended to Len’s best friend and brother, Dave, and to Geraldine for the exceptional care and support they provided during his time of need.</p><p><br></p><p>Respecting Len’s wishes, cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date in Prince Edward Island, where Len will be laid to rest with his son, Reagan.
