Charles Julius "Pete" Hoffmann

<p>On December 10, 2025 at 3:20 am Charles “Pete” Hoffmann quietly slipped away in his sleep to join his wife Jeannette “ the love of his life” to be together again in heaven free from pain and suffering, now in the comfort of our Lord God.</p><p><br></p><p>Charles “Pete” Julius Hoffmann was born on November 4, 1934 in Medary to Ernest F. and Florence G. (Violette) Hoffmann, one of 8 children on the home farm. Early in childhood everyone called him Pete! He had a friendly smile, jokes and laughter to all he met. Pete attended Fauver Hill Elementary school in Medary to the eighth grade when he went to work on the farm to help support the family. He then moved to town and went to work for Fleming Companies in the cooler department unloading trucks at Gateway Foods in La Crosse, Wis for 36 years before he retired. A real dedicated employee in the 36 years he only missed 5 days of work. After a 10 year romance, on October 11, 2003 he married the only “ Love of his life” Jeannette Marie Carpenter who he knew from his childhood years in Medary. They lived life to the fullest traveling the USA and Hawaii visiting family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Charles “Pete” Hoffmann has gone to join his wife Jeannette of 22 years, his parents Ernest and Florence Hoffmann, his siblings, Jean, Robert, Doris, Margaret, Edward, William, and Donna.</p><p><br></p><p>He will be greatly missed by Jeannette’s children David (Pat) Carpenter, Debra (Philip Burt) Carpenter, Shellia Fillner, and Nancy Kneeland who loved him as a Dad; the Hoffmann Nephews Ralph (Cindy) Hoffmann and daughters, Bobby (Sue) Hoffmann, Ernie (Jodie) Hoffmann and Irvin Hoffmann; nieces, Sandy Apa, Barbara (Brian) Akey, Kay Albitz, Linda McKenzie and Gloria Johnson who kindly helped them doing their grocery errands; the many more Hoffmann nieces and nephews; and close friend, Fred (Sandy) Lokken and family.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 1425 Jackson Street, La Crosse. Interment will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Mausoleum.
