James "Greg" Delaney
<p>James “Greg” Delaney, 80, of Raynham, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026. Born in Quincy, he was the only child of the late Ada and James Delaney Sr.</p><p><br></p><p>He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Saigon for two years, where he served as a cartoonist drawing propaganda leaflets. A naturally gifted artist, he went on to spend most of his life working as a paste-up artist, navigating the decades with a little help from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.</p><p><br></p><p>Beyond his passion for art, Greg was deeply rooted in biker culture, riding with several clubs throughout his life. If there was ever a constant, this was it. He built most of his bikes himself, drawing on some experience as a mechanic, but mostly relying on brute-force problem solving in the garage where, more often than not, a few expletives could be heard.</p><p><br></p><p>He was known for his charm and quick wit, and despite his intimidating appearance clad in leather, he was a gentle man – and, occasionally, a gentleman. If you spent more than a minute with him, you were getting a joke that stuck, whether you were ready for it or not. Never a dull moment was had. While his memory weakened in his later years, he always found the bright side, often expressing how excited he was to finally be able to hide his own Easter eggs.</p><p><br></p><p>By his side for years was his dog, George, a Yorkie-Poo he loved from the moment he saw him listed online. George became his absolute best friend, and the two were inseparable. Although he wasn’t there at the end, he was forever a part of him.</p><p><br></p><p>A devoted, loving, and kind father, he is survived by his son, Dwayne Delaney of Raynham; and was predeceased by his son, James “JD” Delaney, and his best friend George “Georgie” Delaney. He also leaves behind their mother, Deborah Anne Delaney.</p><p><br></p><p>A private remembrance will be held to honor his legacy.
