<p>Thomas R. Peterson, 74, Kenmare, ND, died Friday, April 3, 2026 in a Minot hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas Roger Peterson was born on May 11, 1951, a son of Freeman and Angeline (Rostad) Peterson in Minot, ND. He was raised in the Minot area and attended Minot Public Schools.</p><p><br></p><p>On September 14, 1973, Thomas was united in marriage to Margaret Gallagher in Minot, ND. The couple made their home in Kenmare, ND, where together they raised three children Mary, Freeman and Wanda.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas worked various positions throughout his lifetime. He worked alongside his wife Margaret in the restaurant business for several years, including Prairie Inn and Sportsman Cafe in Kenmare, ND. They also operated Dollar Zone Plus in Minot, ND for several years. His most recent position was working at Menards in the Hardware department.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas enjoyed snow and water skiing, reading, biking, lifting weights and eating Margaret's cooking.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by: Wife of 52 years, Margaret: Children: Mary (Don) Sadler, Maplewood, MN, Freeman Peterson, Bismarck, ND and Wanda (Brian) Haynes, Kansas City, MO; Grandchildren: Hope (Colton) Nesler, Millville, MN, Austin Sadler, Fargo, ND, Nicolas Peterson, Bismarck, ND, Jaxon Haynes, Kansas City, MO, great grandchildren: Archer and Axle Nesler; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.</p><p><br></p><p>Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Fay Peterson.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Visitation:</b> Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10 am until service time at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND</p><p><b>Mass of Christian Burial:</b> Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare, ND</p><p><b>Graveside Service:</b> Friday. April 10, 2026 at 2:30 pm at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.</p><p><b>Memorials:</b> In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Kenmare Meals on Wheels program.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>

Tom was a great guy!!! He ran a wonderful restaurant, and will be missed. My sincere condolences to Margaret, Mary, Freeman and Wanda and their families!
