John Warren Dixon, Jr.

<p>John Dixon, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 93. He was born on June 3, 1932.</p><p>John was a proud graduate of Tate High School and honorably served his country in the United States Naval Reserve beginning in September 1949. He entered active duty in January 1952 and was honorably released in November 1953.</p><p>On February 4, 1954, John married the love of his life, Marnell Fowler Dixon. Together they shared more than 72 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and devotion.</p><p>John dedicated his professional life to the electrical trade. He joined IBEW Local 676 in 1949, completed his apprenticeship, and remained a proud member throughout his career, achieving an extraordinary 75 years of membership.</p><p>When he was not working, John found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, especially when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He created countless cherished memories with his family through these adventures.</p><p>John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Dixon; his sisters, Amy Calkins (Roy), Mary Officer (Charlie), Rae Weber, and Betty Long (Fred); and his grandchildren, Kim Faddis Kovacic and Joshua Leonard Booth.</p><p>He is survived by his beloved wife, Marnell Dixon; his children, Theresa E. Dixon, John W. Dixon III, and Laura R. Faddis; his grandchildren, Jef Faddis, Mark Faddis, Shannon Letts, Jason Booth, Tiffany Letts, Adam Wilkum, Jessica Steele, Mary Dixon, and John W. Dixon IV; his great-grandchildren, Rachel, Heather, Cody, Sofia, Nikolas, Hannah Elle, Bronte Elle, Chance Augustine, Danielle Hale, Coulton Booth, Aleshia Sian, Sylvia Booth, Emma Booth, Dominic Sian, Zackary, Lucas, Ethan Steele, Carrter Ray Dixon, Madilyn, Micah, Braylon James Bowie, Joshua Steele, Vaidra, Xavier Marden, William, and Remi Marden, and; as well as several great-great-grandchildren.</p><p>John will be remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering love for his family, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.</p><p>A reception following the graveside service will be held at IBEW Local 676 at 2:30 p.m. All family and friends are welcome to attend.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of John to the IBEW JATC by contacting David Smith, Training Director, at 850-542-7550.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
