Marion Emily Marten

Marion Emily Marten (nee Turpin), aged 99, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 3, 2026. A devoted Christian woman, she lived her life anchored in faith, service, and compassion, always giving more than she ever asked for in return.

Born on April 10th, 1927, she grew up during a time of great challenge and answered the call to serve during the Second World War. As an electrician working on Mosquito bomber planes for De Havilland, she served with courage, skill, and quiet determination.

In 1947, she married the love of her life, Bill, beginning a marriage that lasted more than 70 years. Bill predeceased her in 2018, and the family takes comfort in knowing they are reunited in God’s eternal presence.

She is survived by her children Elaine and Jim (Deb); her grandchildren Rob (Natasha), Jennifer (Stephen), and Chantal (Marshal); and her eleven great grandchildren, who will carry her stories, her faith, and her example forward. She is predeceased by her grandchildren Cameron and Larissa, whom she now joins in heaven.

She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, all roles she embraced with grace and unwavering love. She cared for her own mother with deep devotion until long term care was needed. Marion was known to take in strays, furry or human, and somehow made room for every one of them.

Her life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring faith, and the belief that caring for others is one of the greatest callings God gives us. Her legacy will continue to shine through the generations she nurtured, guided, and prayed for.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:21

A service to honour her life will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 in Keremeos, BC.

April 10, 1927 - May 3, 202604/10/192705/03/2026
