Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terry-Lyn Elizabeth Hodgins on Monday, June 29, 2026, at the age of 65, surrounded by her family.

Loving daughter of Joy Hodgins and the late Dalton Hodgins. Deeply loved mother of Elizabeth, Christine and Ashley (Tim Chevalier). Proud Grammie of Nathan, Olivia, Hendrix and Nolan. She is survived by her siblings Patricia (Mike Hogan), Lori (Bob Skerkowski) and Perry, and her many extended family who meant so much to her, including her wonderful CAP family and dear friends, Carol Ann Cameron and Brenda Russell, whose kindness, friendship and countless hours by her side brought comfort.

Terry-Lyn will be remembered for her warm heart, wonderful sense of humour, and a laugh that could brighten any room. She found joy in life’s simplest moments and could often be heard laughing at just about anything including her own jokes.

Music was one of Terry-Lyn’s greatest passions. She loved playing the piano and faithfully served as the organist at her church for over 30 years, sharing talent and bringing comfort and joy to countless people through music.

Above all else, Terry-Lyn loved her family. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters and a proud grandmother to her four grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought immense happiness, and she cherished every single moment she spent with them.

The last decade of Terry-Lyn’s life brought challenges that forever changed the course of her journey. While the effects of her aneurysm and strokes altered many aspects of her daily life, they never changed the love she had and the pride she felt for her family. Through every chapter, her caring heart, quiet strength and unwavering support remained constant.

Though we began grieving pieces of her long before we said goodbye, the love she gave and the memories of the woman she was, will remain with us always.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pontiac Reception Centre Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Friends may call at Hayes Funeral Home, 134 Centre Street, Shawville, Quebec on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in Hayes Funeral Home Chapel, Shawville, Quebec on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 11 a.m. Interment Norway Bay United Cemetery.
