<p>Ernest David Andrews, Jr., age 73, of Rockingham, died Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Richmond County Hospice Haven, with his son Chip by his side.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born in Rockingham to the late Ernest David Andrews, Sr. and Pauline Branch Harrelson.</p><p><br></p><p>David attended Rohanen High School, class of 1971. He was a former employee of Sara Lee Hosiery. He had a love for fishing, gardening, and cooking. He cherished his friends and church family. He had a warm smile and a caring heart. A true people person, he never met a stranger. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Christina (Christy) Bullard Stentz; grandson, Joshua Ryan Andrews; sister, Linda Holder; wife, Tammy Andrews; and brother, James (Jimmy) Isaac Andrews. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his son, Christopher (Chip) David Andrews (Mandy) of Forest City, NC; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; many friends; as well as close friend, Darrell Allen.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2026, from 1-2:30 pm at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Rockingham, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:30 pm, with Pastor Travis Wilkerson officiating.</p><p><br></p>

He was born in Rockingham to the late Ernest David Andrews, Sr. and Pauline Branch Harrelson.
