<p>Samuel Nathan Silverman, born on June 2, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, after 88 years well lived.</p><p><br></p><p>Sam was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jane Silverman; his parents, Bessie and Moses ("Moe") Silverman; and his brother, Joseph Silverman. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: his daughter, Wendy (Silverman) Kushel and her husband, James; his son, Moses David Silverman and his wife, Sandra; his son, Michael Bank and his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Cindy Bank; his grandchildren, Rebecca Adams, Jacob Adams, Zakary Silverman, and Zara Silverman; his nephew, Steven Silverman and his wife, Paula; many dear friends; and, of course, his beloved dog, Tawney.</p><p><br></p><p>Our hearts are broken, but we are grateful for the life he lived. He loved deeply, laughed often—usually because Wendy or David were teasing him—and filled his years with family, friendship, travel, and the activities he loved. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Jane, his partner in every adventure. Together they built a wonderful life, piloting their beloved Cessna 210 to destinations including the Bahamas and Aspen—with two dogs and all the kids on board. They also spent winters in Mexico, summers in Bend, Oregon, and eventually settled in Rancho Mirage, California, where they lived for the past ten years.</p><p><br></p><p>Sam was still playing pickleball three times a week until the end of May and often practiced Tai Chi to stay in shape. He loved summers in the 70's and 80's in Eagle River, Wisconsin, spent with family, friends, boats and water-skis. For many years, Sam and Jane lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Sam owned Ancient City Art Crating and was admired by both his employees and customers. If there is one thing everyone remembers about Sam, it was his kindness. And yes—he was incredibly handsome.</p>June 2, 1938 - July 4, 202606/02/193807/04/2026
