<p><p>Gloria Jean Clayfield</p><p>March 1, 1946 – July 7, 2026</p><p><br></p><p>It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Jean Clayfield, née Curtis, of Mount Forest, Ontario, at the age of 80.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Gloria moved with her family to the Kitchener area in 1960, where she met her husband, James Clayfield, in 1962. They were married in 1966 and shared 60 devoted years together, recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.</p><p><br></p><p>Gloria and James raised their family on a farm in Breslau, where they lived for more than 40 years. In 2008, they moved to Thornbury, where they operated Goldsmith Orchards until their retirement in 2013. They remained in Thornbury until moving to Mount Forest in 2023, where they lived at the time of Gloria’s passing.</p><p><br></p><p>Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James; her daughters, Amy (Ian) Strachan of Elora and Rebecca (Bryan) MacLeod of Ottawa; her grandson, Andrew Strachan; her sister, Colleen (Harvey) Steffler; and her brother, Frank (Linda) Curtis. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Norma Curtis, and her grandson, Matthew Strachan.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Louise Marshall Hospital for the compassionate care they provided to Gloria and her family.</p><p><br></p><p>In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will welcome family and friends at an informal gathering to celebrate her life on Thursday July 16th, between 4-7pm at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus.</p><p><br></p><p>In memory of Gloria, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada or the Royal Canadian Legion branch 530 (Waterloo).</p><p><br></p><p>www.grahamgiddyfh.com (519) 843-3100</p></p>
