Obituary
Junie M. Walker, 80, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Arthur O'Dell Gatlin and Stella Trentham Gatlin. Her husband, Clifton "Toad" Walker also preceded her in death after they had been married and enjoyed 49 years together. Junie had five siblings that preceded her in death, William Gatlin, Carl Gatlin, Charles Gatlin, Ronnie Gatlin and Jeanette Brown.
Junie was retired from Hardwick Clothes where she was employed as a seamstress for 30 years. She would sew linings into sleeves faster than anyone, and especially fast when she had her headphones on listening to music. As dedicated as she was to her job, she was even more so to her family whom she loved to cook very large meals for. Junie loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping.
Left to cherish her memory are, her son. Dale Walker and his wife Denise of Cleveland; her sisters, Linda Wooten, Glenda Seaborn, Brenda Carter (Lane); brothers, Arthur Gatlin (Donna), A.L. Gatlin, Ricky Gatlin (Sheila) all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Brittany Thomason (Lucas) of Benton, Amber Cook of Etowah; great-grandchildren, Cole Thomason, Peyton Thomason and Abby Cook; special caregivers, Brianna Trentham and Lisa Martin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services, with Reverend Dewayne Lewallen officiating. Interment will follow in Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Junie's nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, 2026 before the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
