Stella Marie McCord
<p>Stella Marie McCord, 94 of Clarksburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Bridgeport Healthcare Center. She was born on December 24, 1931 in Clarksburg, the daughter of the late Sam and Rose Scardina. Stella was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years in 2015, Orson McCord Jr.</p><p><br></p><p>Stella is survived by her daughters, Sherry Spatafore and her husband Sam of Bridgeport, and Linda Dyer of Elkins, WV; son, Anthony “Tony” Losh of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Anthony Losh Jr. and his wife Felicia, Michael Dyer and his wife Kelly, Jessica Tyler and her partner Adam, Leah McCord Lang and her husband Taylor, Sam Spatafore III and his wife Lisa, Matthew Spatafore, Andrew Spatafore and his wife Megan, and Marissa Bonasso and her husband Patrick; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; daughter-in-law Patty McCord; as well as several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents and husband, Stella is preceded in death by her son, Rev. George McCord; grandson, Christopher Losh; brothers, Joe, Patrick, and Sarge Scardina; sisters, Isabell Karnis, and Mary Moore, brothers-in-law, Brooks and Paul McCord; and daughter-in-law, Susie Brown Losh.</p><p><br></p><p>Stella was a proud homemaker and Baptist by faith. She was a caring and giving person, as she was known to help her neighbors and provide elderly care throughout her lifetime. Stella found great joy in spending precious time with her friends and family.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to thank the staff at Bridgeport Healthcare Center, Dr. Malone, and WVU Hospice for their excellent care and support. </p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford Funeral Home, Allen Chapel, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport. A private service of committal will be held for the family at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV.
