Ada Flores

Ada Flores, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away in Dover, Delaware on July 9, 2026 surrounded by loving family. Born on May 25, 1931 in Manhattan, Ada lived a life marked by love for family and friends and devotion to those closest to her.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents Jesus Flores and Felicita Gely, her six brothers Jesus, Romulo, Salvador, Russel and twins Sergie and Mike, and her stepdaughter Doris. Their memories remained a cherished part of her life and family story.

She is survived by her loving daughters Anabel and Inez, son Cecil, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward her memory with affection and gratitude.

Ada’s incredible 95-year journey began the very year the George Washington Bridge was built, perfectly symbolizing a life that would serve as a bridge across generations of history. Ada was witness to a rapidly changing world and her life spanned the greatest leaps of modern human achievement. Yet it was Ada’s immense heart and incurable wanderlust that truly defined her. She had an endless desire to visit new places, with a profound love for people, food, and travel. Whether exploring the globe or splitting her time with visits to family all over the country, Ada connected deeply with everyone she met, amassing a lifetime of beautiful friendships and worldly experiences along the way.

Despite her love for travel, New York City was her home, where she worked for New York State as a bookkeeper. She was a part of the musical rhythm and flow of El Barrio during her younger days. City Island was one of her favorite places to dine. But Ada worked as hard as she played. Even after retirement she would volunteer for numerous causes. Every election day found her working at the polls.

Ada will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and for the lasting place she holds in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her generosity, the generations she helped nurture and the many lives she touched.

Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the amazing staff at Delaware Hospice for the kindness and compassion during Ada’s final days.

A funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 17, 2026 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Friday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the following charities are requested: Delaware Hospice http://www.delawarehospice.org/, Alzheimer’s Foundation of America https://alzfdn.org, or St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, www.stjude.org/. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.

May 25, 1931 - July 9, 202605/25/193107/09/2026
