<p>It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Kennes, who entered eternal rest on July 11, 2026, at the age of 63.</p><p><br></p><p>Diane was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, to the late George and Dorothy Kennes, and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved.</p><p><br></p><p>She was also predeceased by her beloved in-laws, Anna and John Chomyk, and her brother-in-law, Steve Chomyk.</p><p><br></p><p>Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Chomyk, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Joyce Holser (Raymond), Ellen Kennes, Christine Falkl, and Carol Kennes; her sisters-in-law, Maria Chomyk and Janina Chomyk; and her brother-in-law, Simon Chomyk.</p><p><br></p><p>She will be deeply missed by her nephews and nieces, Keith Holser (Katie), David Falkl, Lauren Falkl, Michelle and Wayne Andrews, Robert and Adia Odomirok, David Odomirok, Michael Bybel, and Paul and Ivanka Bybel, as well as her great-nieces Sofia, Isabella, and Mila and great-nephews Yarema and Stefan, many cousins, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her warmth and kindness.</p><p><br></p><p>Diane attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School before beginning a long and successful career. She proudly worked for AT&amp;T for 34 years and later continued her dedication to public service while employed by the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson for seven years.</p><p><br></p><p>Those who knew Diane will remember her vibrant spirit, infectious sense of humor, and remarkable ability to bring laughter to every gathering. She embraced life with enthusiasm, treasured every opportunity to travel, and was always excited to plan the next adventure. Above all else, Diane loved spending time with her family. Whether celebrating holidays, sharing meals, or simply enjoying each other's company, those moments brought her the greatest happiness.</p><p><br></p><p>Diane's love, generosity, and joyful personality touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will continue to honor her by carrying forward the laughter, love, and compassion she shared so freely.</p><p><br></p><p>She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers. memorial contributions made be made to <a href="//www.stmichaelsukrainian.com/" title="St Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church</a></p>
