Frances Marie Fisher

<p>Frances Marie “Gracie” Fisher, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2026 with her family at her side. She was born in Franklin County on May 11, 1945, the daughter of the late Roscoe C. and Ruth Spradlin Fisher. She was also preceded in death by her older sister, Norma “Jackie” F. Harris, as well as brothers-in-law, Wayne Jackson and Harry Penn.</p><p><br></p><p>Marie is survived by a brother, Robert C. Fisher and wife Linda; sisters, Julia Louise F. Jackson, Brenda F. Penn, and Cathy F. Clingenpeel and husband James; several nieces and nephews who loved and cared for her as her siblings did; as well as numerous friends at McCray Court Senior Living.</p><p><br></p><p>Her sister Cathy has been especially involved in her care over the past few years. She was also very well cared for by the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.</p><p><br></p><p>Marie was a lifelong member of Nineveh Church of the Brethren where she served faithfully for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Nineveh Church of the Brethren with Rev. Christian Becker officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 10 am for those wishing to pay their respects. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>The family is accepting flowers or memorial donations may be made to Nineveh Church of the Brethren, P.O. Box 0377, Hardy, VA 24101-0377.</p><p><br></p><p>Simpson Funeral Home is serving the family.</p><p><br></p>
