Judy Anderson

Mrs. Judy Anderson, age 82, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Piedmont Medical Center in Fort Mill, SC surrounded by those that loved her most.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Belair United Methodist Church. The funeral ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary followed by the burial that will be in the church cemetery.

Born in Indian Land, SC, she was a daughter of the late Horton Pettus and Helen Ross Pettus. Judy graduated from Indian Land high school class of 1962 where she was crowned homecoming queen, Miss DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and she was a member of the Beta club. Judy worked in the real estate industry where she was the owner and broker of her real estate company, Hawkins Realty, Inc., for over 40 years.

Judy was a lifelong member of Belair United Methodist Church where she served on the board of trustees, administrative counsel, and she was a member of the United Women’s Faith and the SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee). Judy enjoyed relaxing on the porch at her inlet beach house. She also enjoyed dining out, shopping, and traveling, particularly when she could share those experiences with family and friends. Most importantly, Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David W. Anderson; daughters, Tara Cooke, Amy Moss (Troy); sister, Janet Ricketson (James); grandchildren, Christopher (Kelsey), Zachary, Hannah, Hilary (Wil), Claire, and great grandchildren, Raylee, Presley, Koa, Posie, and Arbor. She was preceded in death by her son, David Hawkins; sister, Joanne Reeder and one grandson, Ian Moss.
