<p>Joyce R. Schmitt, age 88, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 11, 2026, just as she had always wished.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born in Mt. Calvary, WI, on September 20, 1937, daughter of the late Sylvester and Marcella (Mihm) Enders. Joyce attended grade school at Holy Cross School, Mt. Calvary, and graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1955.</p><p><br></p><p>On October 10, 1959, she married Ronald Schmitt at Holy Cross Church in Mt. Calvary. They resided in Fond du Lac for 7 ½ years after their marriage and moved to Plymouth in 1966, becoming members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ron preceded her in death on November 19, 2006.</p><p><br></p><p>She enjoyed reading, baking, camping, traveling in the RV, but most of all loved spending time with her loving family.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include: Four children: Sherry (John) Gallagher of Cascade, Karin (Phil) Laska of Fond du Lac, Kelly (Kevin) Harvey of Campbellsport, and John Schmitt of Plymouth; 13 Grandchildren: Richard Enders, Leah (Nate) Murray, Craig (Jayna) De Smidt, Stella Gallagher, Ryan (Brittany) Gallagher, Joe Krueger (partner, Jocelyn), Tyler (Leslie) Laska, Matthew Laska, Megan Laska, Jared Engel, Zachary Harvey, Madison Schmitt, and Jordan Schmitt; Step-grandchildren: Jake (Stacy) Gallagher and Adam Gallagher; 9 Great-grandchildren; Sister, Verna Fahrbach; Brother, Gary (Kim) Enders; Sisters-in-law: Bonnie Enders and Doris Schaefer; As well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Joyce was preceded in death by: Her husband, Ron; Daughter, Julie; Son-in-law, Gary Engel; Parents; Parents-in-law, George and Delphine Schmitt; Sisters: Doloris (Jerry) Pickart and Elaine (Bob) Johnson; Brother, Larry Enders; and Brothers-in-law, Jim Fahrbach and David Schaefer.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 12:00-2:00pm, with a service to follow. Fr. Subi Thomas will officiate, and she will be laid to rest with Ron and Julie at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mt. Calvary.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to send special thanks to the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice (especially Anne) for the extraordinary care and compassion given to Joyce.</p>
