Thomas L. Davis Jr. Jr.

Thomas Lee Davis Jr., 79, of Simpson, WV, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Simpson on February 22, 1947, a son of the late Thomas L. Davis Sr. and Mavis M. (Helmick) Davis.

In addition to his parents Thomas was preceded in death by a sister in infancy and one grandson Christopher Davis.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Mildred E. (Morris) Davis whom he married on October 8, 1983; Three children: Harry O. Davis (Tammy) of Simpson, Diana J. Davis of El Paso, TX, and Daniel P. Davis (Casey) of Shinnston; Brother Ben Davis (Cathy) of Grafton; Grandchildren: Brianna Reed (Nate), Abby Davis, Christopher Whitehair, and Renee Whitehair; Great-Grandchildren: Isabella Reed and Andrew Reed; and Nieces and Nephews: Ben Davis Jr. (Kristin), Christie Davis, Chad Davis (Hope), and Jared Davis (Damaris).

Thomas served his country honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He worked as a welder with Quality Machine for over 30 years before retiring. Thomas was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and working in his garden. He was a member of Evans Chapel United Methodist Church in Simpson, and also loved his dogs, “Buddy and Leah.”

Family and friends will be received at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home 950 George Washington Hwy Grafton, WV, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 10am with Pastor Lois Sandy presiding. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown where full military honors will be accorded.
