<p>Misty Dawn Medlin Dees, lovingly known as Misty Dees, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Myrtle, Mississippi, at the age of 51.</p><p><br></p><p>Misty was born on August 14, 1974, in New Albany, Mississippi, to Robert Dearl Medlin and Doris Ellen Garrison Medlin. She lived a life marked by kindness, gentleness, and creativity, and she will be remembered by all who knew her for the warmth she brought into every room. Misty was a Christian woman whose faith was an important part of her life, and her quiet strength and loving spirit reflected the values she held dear.</p><p><br></p><p>Misty devoted her life to her family and home as a housewife, where she found joy in caring for those she loved. She was a deeply loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and her family meant everything to her. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-four years, James Dees; her adored son, Dustin, and his wife, Mindi; her father, Robert Medlin; her brothers, Gary Medlin and Robert Allen Medlin and his wife, Darla; her sister, Deborah Shackleford and her husband, Tony; her mother-in-law, Edith Dees; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Medlin; her grandparents, Buford and Sallie Pearl Garrison, and Alvie and Gladys Medlin; her father- in -law Douglas Dees; and her nephew, Kurt Shackleford. Though her loved ones grieve her passing, they take comfort in the many memories she created and the lasting impact of her love.</p><p><br></p><p>Misty had a creative heart and enjoyed crafting, crocheting, and painting. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to express the gentle and imaginative spirit that defined her. She found happiness in simple, meaningful moments, and she especially loved spending time with her son, Dustin. Her devotion to her family was evident in everything she did, and she loved them deeply and unconditionally.</p><p><br></p><p>Those who knew Misty will remember her as a loving, creative, and gentle soul. She had a tender way about her that made others feel cared for and valued. Her presence was a blessing to her family and friends, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.</p><p><br></p><p>Misty Dawn Medlin Dees leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. Her life was a beautiful reflection of the things that mattered most to her, especially her family and her home. While she will be greatly missed, her memory will remain a source of comfort and strength to all who loved her.</p><p><br></p><p>Services to honor her life will be Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Marty Merritt and Bro. Jerry Bishop officiating. A visitation will be held beginning at 12:00 pm until the service time, all at United Funeral Service. Burial will be in Keownville Cemetery.
