<p><p>Connell, David Hastings – 81 years, of Bridgetown passed away July 11, 2026 in Digby General Hospital. Born January 19, 1945, in Annapolis Royal, he was the son of the late John ‘Jack’ and Dorothy ‘Dot’ (Pitman) Connell.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>David drove long haul trucking most of his life, for many of those years he drove for Eassons Transport. He loved the time he spent on the road. Some of his other great loves were, camping, dancing and Country music.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>David is survived by his wife, Hilda; step children, Rick Durling, Debbie (Clayton) Oliver, Cindy (Richard) Keith and their families; brothers, Wayne (Roberta), John (Sandy), Ken (Pat), Ricky (Candy); several nieces and nephews; and many very special camping friends.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Sharon.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>A service of remembrance will be held 2pm Monday July 20, 2026 at St. James Anglican Church, Bridgetown with Rev. Julia Ford officiating. Private family interment. Reception to follow service in church hall. Donations in Davids memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church.
