Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Whitehawk on August 1, 2026 at the Yorkton Hospital at the age of 76 years old.
Barbara was a certified nursing assistant at the Kelsey Institute, served as a counsillor for The Cote First Nation, CHR on The Cote First Nation, was a Welfare Administrator for 25 years on The Cote First Nation, Yellowquill First Nation with Family Services, received her Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work in 2014, FSIN administration assistant. She also was a Mary Kay Consultant, was number 3 in Kathy Handziuk district, regionally recognized.
Barbara is survived by her children; Mark (Crystal) Whitehawk, Teresa (the late Harold Sr) Straightnose, Sonya Whitehawk, Lavina (Byron) Olenick, Colleen Whitehawk, Marilyn Frank, Vernon Frank, grandchildren; Leonard Ketchemonia, Eric Ketchemonia, David Bird Jr, Tyler Whitehawk, Harold Straightnose, Devin Severight, Lil Barabara Severight, Trez Keshane, Anena Keshane, Tristan Keshane, Christie Whitehawk, Johanna Maynard, Kwaniel, Kiyanaw Whitehawk, her siblings; Regina Shingoose, Brenda (David) Kakakaway, Norman (Dick) Shingoose, Connie Shingoose, great grandchildren; Kamryn Skye Pelly (Kapiginan), Eddie Terro Skylynn Stevens, L'il Harold Straightnose III, Lloyd and Leighna Straightnose, Caden Straightnose, Micah Keshane, Carter Keshane, Jory Keshane, Kendall Keshane, Jace Keshane, Sophie Sundown, Eric and Ezra Ketchemonia, Xander Straightnose, Ryder, River, Kaleisha Ketchemonia.
Barbara is predeceased by her husband; Maynard Whitehawk Sr, her parents; Victor and Evelyn Mary Shingoose, grandmother; Dorothy Crowe, Maynard Whitehawk Jr, brother; Arthur Shingoose (Downy), sisters; Lavina Benjoe (Towake), Victoria Quewezance (Vickie), her grandchildren; Jory Keshane, Keith Ketchemonia, Jade Whitehawk, and Lloyd Straightnose.
She will be missed and loved.
