<p>Josie Louise Cobb Bryant was born on May 7, 1940 to Tom Henry and Henrietta Pirtle Cobb.</p><p><br></p><p>She joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age.</p><p><br></p><p>Josie attended and graduated from Tennessee State University. She met her husband James Bryant at TSU and married him on June 21, 1965. They were married for 61 years before her death. They moved to Covington, TN and had twin daughters, Anita and Bonita in December 1966.</p><p><br></p><p>Josie worked as a schoolteacher (teaching 1st and 4th grade students) for Covington Elementary for 25 years. She was also a Sunday school teacher at Collins Chapel Church for many years and later joined Mother Liberty CME Church in Jackson. She was a faithful member there for many years and actively participated in church activities in the Smyrna, Tennessee community once they moved to an assisted living facility there.</p><p><br></p><p>Josie was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Lois Cobb Fuller and Marie Cobb Wisdom.</p><p><br></p><p>Josie is survived by her husband, James Bryant; her daughters, Anita (devoted son-in-law, Lance) Winton, and Bonita Bryant, along with one grandson, Alex Winton.</p><p><br></p><p>Josie is also survived by brothers and sisters: Tom (Rosia) Cobb of Jackson, TN, Shirley Hill of Medon, TN, Doretha Hill of Medon, TN, Lessie Jones of Milwaukee, WI, Anna Pearl (Odell) Johnson of Ellenwood, GA, Elmer Cobb (Florence) of Toone, TN, Dorothy DeWalt of Murfreesboro, TN, Jennett Gladney of Jackson, TN, and Norman (Debra) Cobb of Medon, TN; along with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends.</p><p><br></p>Obituary
