Hospicio B. Comia

Hospicio B. Comia passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026 in Old Bridge. He was 89 years old. Hospicio was born and raised in Rosario, Batangas, Philippines. He came to Queens, NY in 1971 and later resided in Jersey City for many years. He returned to the Philippines after his retirement. He then resided in Brooksville, FL for 12 years before returning to New Jersey. He has resided in Clearbrook, Monroe Twp. since 2016. He earned his bachelor's degree in engineering and began his career as a mechanical engineer. He was employed first by Philippines Airlines and later by Hudson County Department of Corrections where he spent the majority of his career. He retired in 2002. Hospicio was a member of the Hernando County Philippine-American Association in Florida. He loved fishing, crabbing, dancing, and betting on horse racing. He was a handyman at home and enjoyed repairing his cars and completing sudoku puzzles.

He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Adelia (Hebreo) Comia of Clearbrook, Monroe Twp., three children, Matthew Comia and his wife Jennifer of Union, Lalaine Genuino and her husband Nomer of Williamstown, and Maya Gachago and her husband John of Titusville, FL, five grandchildren, Jesmer Genuino, Kelsey Genuino, Katherine Genuino Leung and her husband Kason, Nehemiah Chase, and Nicholas Comia, four siblings, Isabelita Clariza, Minda Comia, Artemio Comia and his wife Mila, and Mario Comia and his wife Ludy, and many other extended family members.

Visitation will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 and from 9am to 9:30am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. Funeral services will begin at 9:30am on Wednesday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10am at St. James the Less RC Church, 36 Lincoln Ave. Jamesburg, NJ 08831 followed by Entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick Twp.
